Urban mans struggle in an industrialized society is realized in this architectural figure fragment. In a struggle for freedom they are bound by brick and mortar. This series depicts an internal struggle to break out of the restraining structures that bind use to our system.

The original is sculpted in clay. Then a mold is made and textured layers of clay are pressed into the mold. The figure shape is the same but the texture and fragmentation on each piece is one of a kind. They are then fired in a wood burning kiln. I consider them multiple originals within an edition.

This figure fragment is the front only it has a hollow back that allows the sculpture to be hung on a wall.
