The metaphor for fragment is far reaching, A fragment of time a piece of a memory, a fragmented life, a fragment of history.
 

The original is sculpted in clay. Then a mold is made and textured layers of clay are pressed into the mold. The figure shape is the same but the texture and fragmentation on each piece is one of a kind. They are then fired in a wood burning kiln. I consider them multiple originals within an edition.
 

This figure fragment is the front only it has a hollow back that allows the sculpture to be hung on a wall.
