JEFF HALL’S unique style combines past and present art forms to create a
sense of mysticism and beauty which gives his art universal appeal among
collectors. Jeff began his career as a painter, winning 10 best in show
awards in 7 years. Being given a scholarship to become a craft major in
college, he was Intrigued by the challenge of three dimension, tackling
and conquering
wood, clay and bronze to depict his subjects. “Having
experience with a wide range of materials allows me to create with
purpose.”
Jeff worked for eleven years with Frederick Hart, one of today’s premier
figure sculptors, learning the processes involved in building monuments.
Mr. Hart once wrote of Jeff’s sculpture. “Whose quality of work rivals
any in history”
Jeff’s own personal interest in architecture and lost civilizations,
along with his affection for the art of modern fantasy illustrators, has
influenced him to look deeper at capturing the expression between mind
and body that seems to transcend the medium. “The figure is not just a
body in motion, but rather a mind at work..”
Jeff received his BFA, Cum Lauda, in 1984 From the Maryland Institute
college of Art, Baltimore Maryland. He received the James L. Young
memorial prize, award for excellence and a merit scholarship award for
outstanding achievement. His ceramic sculpture has been shown
internationally and his architectural sculpture adorns buildings,
churches and estates in and around the Washington D.C. area, as well as
the east coast.
